We are also filled with deep pride as Maria Consuelo “Ningning” Doble has been nominated for the IBBY–iRead Outstanding Reading Promoter Award.

For many years, Ms. Ningning has been a steadfast champion of children’s reading. Through her leadership, she has helped open doors to stories, build bridges to books, and inspire countless communities to believe in the transformative power of literacy. Her dedication has shaped spaces where children can imagine, learn, and grow beyond their circumstances.

To LINKS Philippines, she is more than a leader. She is our president, mentor, and guiding force—someone who leads with compassion, strength, and an unwavering belief in the potential of every child.

This nomination recognizes a lifetime devoted to nurturing young readers and strengthening a culture of reading in the Philippines. More than an achievement, it reflects a life lived in service to others.
